All inputs now work!!!

Garageband2 and MOTU 828MKII work fine together with the latest drivers installed. Note that users with earlier versions of the 828 firmware (<1.03) should select the "custom install" and both install options when loading the driver.

The inputs map as follows:

In applications such as GarageBand where the inputs only show up as numbered inputs (Input 1, Input 2, etc.) and not by their name (Mic / Gtr 1, Mic / Gtr 2, etc.), the inputs always follow a certain order. The I/O scheme for the 828mk2 is:

* INPUT
o 1-2 : Mic / Guitar 1-2
o 3-10 : Analog 1-8
o 11-12 : S/PDIF 1-2
o 13-14 : Mix1
o 15-22 : ADAT 1-8
* OUTPUT
o 1-2 : Main Outs
o 3-10 : Analog 1-8
o 11-12 : S/PDIF 1-2
o 13-14 : Phones 1-2
o 15-22 : ADAT 1-8

Since Mic / Guitar 1-2 are Inputs 1-2, that means Analog inputs 1-8 become Inputs 3-10.

This can also be found in the 828mk2 manual (page 76) and in the online tech notes database ( http://www.motu.com/techsupport/technotes/...7-14.6562762048 ).

btw - MOTU email support provides excellent turn around and follow through.
