I'm sick of trying to make OMS work with my Midisport 2x2. Is it true that you can set up Logic to recognize and communicate with external devices without using OMS? If some kind and patient soul could walk me through that I would really appreciate it. biggrin.gif Here's what I'm working with:
- Mac G4
- OS 9.2
- Midisport 2x2
- Alesis QS7 (to be used as a midi controller and external synth)
- roland JV 1080 (to be used as external synth only)
- Logic 4.8.1

P.S: If anyone is interested in my sob story of how OMS doesn't like me, I would love to share and get input, but I've basically given up on it. sad.gif

Hi joyfulsong,

Unfortunately, you won't be able to get the Midisport 2x2 to work without OMS under OS 9. Logic's own built in MIDI drivers support their own interfaces (Unitor8, AMT8 and MT4) and will also work in MTP mode with a serial interface.
So if you want to get rid of OMS buy an MT4 (Emagic's cheapest MIDI interface).
