I find it staggering that people always try to take entry level gear and turn it into some pro level screamer.

Sure, we're moving off topic here...

I've taken the discussion about possible external processing hubs (i.e the idea of a hybrid device somewhere between a the Mini Mac and the Xserve) to a whole new topic.

Forums ->English ->Mac and peripherals
"G5 Xserve - Good Audio Potential?"

QUOTE
...We need node G5 computers: G5, enough RAM in (it can be soldered), small yet reasonably fast HD, Ethernet GB, no CD/DVD drive, stackable. And a separate power supply to power a number of these. Market: logic users, any software in audio, video, 3D, DTP that needs bit crushing so editors have to follow in xgrid.

Thats great, lepetitmartien - it looks like you're "off the planet" on this one in the same way I am! smile.gif The G5 iBook is reportedly in production now - its not a "node" but its something...

Anyway, the Mini Mac - as it is - could prove a useful device for smaller projects - there are already new topics on this now.
