Can you use all the sounds / voices from hardware synths like the Motifes in sequencers like Digital Performer? I am so new to this so bare with me. I know you can play general midi from a synth in a recording sequencer, but that was a long time ago for me. Plus, can you use the Motifes to control soft synths and plug ins? Thanx

Or does everyone recommend just getting a midi controller keyboard like the ones from m-audio and use plug ins for the sounds?

all help is appreciated a lot.

i have a motif es with an mlan card and digital performer 4.5
this is an incredible combo the motif es is a one of a kind...
i suggest you go to some other sites that are more specific to digital performer and the motif and start learning about mlan

www.osxaudio.com anything osx and music but has a fantastic DP forum
www.mlancentral.com
www.motifator.com
www.01xray.com (for the 01X and mlan and anything that connects it is a fantastic site even though u might think it is 01X only it is excellent)

frequent those site and grab the info there and you will be learning alot

things u can do with a motif es and an mlan card and DP

the motif becomes your audio midi interface to your daw using the motif AD inputs
Use the Motif ES as a control surface for your DAW... sliders move the software sliders etc in real time in DP

use DP's effects when recoding straight to the Computer
Use the Motif's effect AFTER you recorded a track on your computer!

lots more

go to mlancentral.com and watch the video on mlan and be blown away
