Firstly..
Will the Logic Pro 7 upgrade work for my Logic Audio Platinum v.5?

And...
I generally use 4 apps for music:
1. Logic Audio Platinum v.5 (multi-tracking)
2. SoundEdit16 (audio manipulation/editing)
3. EasyBeat (MIDI composition)
4. CellSynth (software synthesizer)

For OS X, I can upgrade the Logic and EasyBeat for $350 (hopefully). The problem is that I need an OS X equivalent for both SoundEdit16 and CellSynth.

What's a good OS X audio editor (to replace my SoundEdit16)?
What's a good OS X software synthesizer (to replace my CellSynth)?

p.s. I don't want to have to ever start up the "Classic" environment once I get my new setup.

There is nothing quite like good ol' SE16 for OSX. Although Audacity is quite close and FREE. DSP Qutro is an excellent Editor but cost $145US

Crystal is a great and versitle soft synth for OSX. And it's free.
Check out the softs section on this site as a resourse for all the latest and greatest.
