Hi everyone!
this is my problem.. I had one of the first g5's with the noise problems and all that good stuff.. well let me get straight to the point. There was something wrong with it and in a 3 month period apple finally decided to send me a new mac (g5 dual 1.8 ) After reinstalling logic i noticed before on the old mac, the startup logic splash screen used to read optimized for g5 ( or something similiar to that) now it says optimized for g4! Is there any way to change this? when i go into the hardware preferences you can select what type of processor you have.. generic or g5 is what used to be there. now i just see generic and g4. Is there anything i can do? Could this be affecting some performance? thx sal ![]() |

Hi sal,
Disclaimer: I don't own a G5 yet, and I'm not a Logic user. Have you tried running System Profiler on the machine? (Go to Apple Menu, choose "About This Mac," then click the "More Info" button). Check out the Hardware Overview to see what processor you've got in there. Kind regards. -------------------- Dave Bourke
