OK. This is probably the easiest thing ever to figure out, but I can't do it. I just got an iMac G5 and can successfully record audio tracks with my MBox and ProTools. No problem there. The computer is a dream.

Now, I have a Radium-49 MIDI keyboard that I'd like to use with Garageband and ProTools. Of course, I cannot get it to work. I have the Radium going into my iMac via one of the USB ports, and I have the most current drivers for Panther. I've tried creating an icon for it in the MIDI/Audio Setup preference, but it's not possible to connect the ports to anything. According to Garageband, 1 MIDI device is being detected, but it seems like I've tried everything to get it to work as an input, and it just doesn't work.

I'd appreciate any advice/help. I'm sure there is an extremely easy solution for this. Thanks.

Thanks for responding. The M-Audio people contacted me, too, and gave me a simple solution that doesn't work. I'm beginning to think it's the keyboard - I've only ever gotten it to work once with my iBook, and it seems like it should be much easier than this.

Anyway, I did everything you suggested even before you responded, and I get nothing. M-Audio told me to create an entirely new setup in the Audio/Midi Setup, and when I do that, Garageband doesn't even recognize a MIDI input, whereas it does in the Default setting. So that seemed to be a step backward. The next step may be to try with the old Monster MIDI cables, god forbid.
