I would love to hear of any experiences or rumours pertaining to the use of a digi 001 soundcard with PTLE and a titanium powerbook 700mhz w/ 256mb ram. What's the interface/ adaptor that i need to attach it to my laptop? if it's possible, then would i be able to pack on my plug-ins [edit LPM: forbidden!]? does it have to get installed by a profi? await eagerly the results of my fellow do-gooders! (stop me from crying)

OK - i'll be straight. My old system is AMIII on a G3 which was fine till he keeled over last week. Now i bought a PW 700mhz and a digi002R which is obviously bad. One needs at least 867mhz to run the rack... So. The reason i got the old powerbook is becos i wanted to run X for rack and use 9 for my recent songs.
And now i'm in a massive quandary. Do I a) return the rack and PB and buy a digi001 and a corresponding mac (but which mac would be the most powerful?) or b) keep the rack and search ebay for the next 2 weeks for a pb with both systems and loads of herz or c) keep my pb and buy an RME or motu and switch back to Logic? Basically, I NEED PLUG-IN POWER, and i need it for 3000 euros, and i need a generous plug-in bundle to match. And i need multi (at least 2 parallell mics) ins. Do you think you have any inspirational ideas for me? I do know logic a bit, but can one be as exact in the placement of sounds on beats as with PTs? Could i afford a motu and digi 001 and a corresponding mac? I would SO be your absolute best friend if you helped me out on this one - my album deadline is november 30th... Aaarrrgghh!!! By the way - i'm so sorry i didn't find this place sooner! wow - so many great people! cheers This post has been edited by gif_silver: Thu 28 Oct 2004, 03:23 |
