Hey everyone! I have a question or two... I have been called upon to put together a demo reel for a cat in L.A. looking for film music. I'm using Logic Pro 7 and I amd very happy on the side of actually producing tracks. Now I would like to know if there is a software out there that will enable me to rip scenes from a DVD and also enabling me to remove existing music? My partner expplianed to me that on the DVDs there is a speech and music folder. So I figure just delete music folder, but his program is like 1,000 dollars. I'm trying to get product complete so I can make money. So I can afford thousand dollar programs. For now I would like to find one that would enable me to do the above stated. Can anyone help me out?

Thank you in advance for your time!!

Hey Dreadman, we have found ourself in the same position as yourself. I am film music programmer with six films to my name but recently have started a company to promote my self, and the people I work with, as composers working to picture. The solution we found was to approach video artists through local colleges and trade magazines to offer them a deal whereby they allow us to us their visuals on our showreel and they get to use our music on theirs. This method also has the advantage of getting in at grassroots with the people who may end up the moguls in later life. Also good training in dealing with directors (people skills forms a large part of this job) who can be a tricky bunch. As an example check out "Diesel Dreams" a quicktime competition run by Diesel clothing. www.dieseldreams.com/launch.html

All the best.
