Yesterday I spent awhile trying to figure out why Logic Platinum 4.8 wouldn't output any sound when playing files, when it usually would. There was sound when playing aiff files indiviually but not when playing the whole track.
The only thing different in my setup from last week, when it worked, was that I had installed 1GB more RAM on my Dual 1.25 G4. So I took out the RAM, and I GOT MY SOUND BACK! The max RAM that I have in my computer now is 1GB; 1.5GB does not allow the sound from the whole piece to play for some reason... Does anyone know of a workaround to this? I don't think the newer Logic versions have a problem- I have Logic Express 6 but haven't used it with my more-RAM-setup. Any insight on the matter is appreciated. -------------------- |

what computer are using? Does it support 1.5gigs of RAM? Does OS9 support that much RAM? I only ask because this was an unheard of amount of RAM until the recent Macs and OS9 was developed when 1gig was max I think.
Also, not all RAM is created equal. I have heard that some RAM... like what Mac Zone gives you free is cheap RAM and prone to problems. At least that is what I have been told by my techs here at work as we have had problems with our G5's and RAM. Might also be a Logic issue in that version that doesn't support over 1gig of RAM either... but none of this I can confirm for sure.
