Hi ! Anyone experienced who give me some advices?
I have just bought the Motu 828mkII and now I am trying make a setup specifically for my studio. This is a quite complicated situation : I have four sound devices which I would like to use in stereo. I have a LXP-1 Lexicon as a reverb. I have two computers a G5 and a G4 (for OS9 applications) which works good together because of a USB KVM-switcher I can use my Motu microexpress for all mididevices on both computers. (but not at the same time, of course) I would also like to hear the sound from both computers. I have a Fostex Line-mixer with 16 channels in and out. How shall I get all this to work with the 828 MkII ? There are eight analog inputs on the 828 which I intend to use for the sound devices. I was thinking of using the S/PDIF connection for my G5 in/out. (But I read something in the manual about clock-syncronization on this matter.) The G4 will have to go through my Fostex Linemixer, I guess. Still I have to make some compromises when it comes to my sound devices. I have to set up a couple of them in mono to make room for the LXP-1. Here is a scenario: Digital piano ch 1-2 ,/ Proteus2 ch 3-4,/ U110 1 ch 5 / U110 2 ch 6 / LXP-1 ch 7 allright I have one ch left - which could be used as a stereo for a U110 for example. Mac G5 S/PDIF* in/out [or to my Fostex Linemixer] Virtual instruments would be better going to the 828mk I guess. Mac G4 to Fostex Linemixer I have an stereoamplifier (homemodel) and two speakers to all this. I am a newbie, and for me all this seems difficult. I use Digital Performer and applications like Sibelius, Overture. Could anyone please suggest a setup that would suit me? kind regards Ingvar |
