Without much knowledge of the equipment or software (I use Logic), aside from the Mac and the Casio (I used to own one myself), let me try to help: For using the KB as a controller, you'll need to activate MIDI on the kb (or you had to on mine; check the manual for instructions, or you can download a copy from Casio) then connect the MIDI out of the Casio into the MIDI in of the Roland, then connect whatever audio output there is from the Roland to your sound input port. From what you said in the post, it doesn't look like you NEED Cubase to see the Roland if all you want to do is get the notes from the keyboard then record the sound output in the computer. If that's all it is, your computer won't be involved with the MIDI at all. Hope what little information is here is helpful
