I'm new to music creation..so new in fact that i haven't even started. But this is what i'm planning on buying in the not so distant future.
MIC: Rode NT-1A Audio Interface: MAudio DUO or Mobile Pre Music Creation Software: Reason 2.5 or...Apple's Sountrack! I do alot of flash animation and am getting into video editing...after viewing all the Sountrack videos from Apple's website it seems i could kill 2 birds with one stone....or 3 birds....whatever. I dont know if you guys have experience with Soundtrack but if so, let me know how you like it, and let me know what you think of my setup and if you have any suggestions...thanx. |

Hey KidMac.
I'm sorry but I have not used the Maudio DUO, Mobile Pre or Soundtrack, but I have read that they are just fine. You could also take a look at digidesigns Mbox.I have used it and can highly recommend it. I have also used the NT-1A on numerous occasions and I can highly recommend it as well. Reason is also a great choice. I am currently using it, and think it is great for someone new to the world of computer generated music. I think there are better programs out there but Reason is one of the easiest programs to use and is a lot of fun. I'm sure you can't go wrong with any of your choices. Your off to a great start and your bound to get years of enjoyment from your equipment. |

You might also want to check out ReVision which works specifically with Reason to add soundtracks to movie clips. It's $29 as opposed to $299. Soundtrack is great too though.

As a beginner I've been using Soundtrack to try doing some bootlegs. Every day I'm discovering something great about it.
