Quicktime 5 and later can load and use soundfonts.
Put the soundfont files (.sf2) into the Extensions "Quicktime Extensions" "Sound Banks" folder and then open the "Quicktime Settings" control panel and choose the music item and the soundfont files should appear in a list that you can select from along with the regular Quicktime synth .

You probably need to make the "Sound Banks" folder from within the "QuickTime Extensions" folder first and then put the soundfont files into the newly created "Sound Banks" folder.
The folder that Quicktime scans for soundfont files is System Extensions "QuickTime Extensions" "Sound Banks".
Try it and see.
