Hello masters of MIDI sound
I have the following combination : Creative SB Live ! sound card Fasoft n-Track studio (digital recording mixer) Native Instruments FM7 (S/W synth)
I recorded a MIDI track in the n-Track. Now, I channeled the MIDI track to the ‘SB Live MIDI Out (1040)’. The other two MIDI outs are connected to the MIDI syth of the Creative sound card (‘A: SB Live MIDI Synth’ and ‘B: SB Live MIDI Synth’). In the MIDI settings of the FM7 I configured the MIDI input to be the ‘SB Live MIDI In (1040)’. For some reason I can’t make the FM7 play the MIDI track I recorded. I tried changing and trying all of the 16 MIDI channels, but with no success. I just can’t figure out what is wrong. I want to be able to play the recorded MIDI track while using the reach sound of the FM7 for recording an audio track. I really need help on this. Anyone with a practical idea ???

Your first problem is that you are sending the signal to the external port of your Soundblaster card and the signal has to be sent internally. Your second problem, and most important one, is that you are using a windows based PC and not a Mac. (Correct me if I am wrong but as far as I know Fasoft n-track is Windows only). This is a Macintosh Music forum so your question is not relevant on this forum (that is why it is called macmusic) If you had bought a macintosh you wouldn't have had this problem.
