The "delete files" option does not work - I have contacted their forum and they say I am the only one with the problem therefore I'm thinking its a Mac issue....does anyone know how such a function works or how it could go wrong - basically the software has a browser within which unwanted recordings can be deleted, but when I try the items select disappear ok but don't got to trash and then reappear if i close and then reopen it's host folder.
I've trashed prefs and reinstalled...nothing.
Thanks for any ideas, I'm desperate.

First thing, run the Apple disk repair utility SOS disk and rebuild the desktop too, it may be the mac doesn't know where everything is or the desktops files are screwed in some way.

Then I'd try with a minimum set of extensions (only Apple) first, try Live, then if it's ok add the few for music etc.

It can be a conflict somewhere around there…

Else which version of OS9 are you using, if it's 9.1 either try 9.04 or 9.2x. unsure.gif

(btw I merged both threads wink.gif

Before that, contact Ableton. It may be a problem they know about… sad.gif

If it was really system related you would have troubles in similar uses in other softwares. The disk problems may not cause problems to other apps but a system related yes it can!

Have you tried to trash the preference files, and also reinstall Live if it's not sufficient ?

Ableton said I was the only person they knew of with the problem, they requested a file that is created on program install which I sent but was of no help....I really bugged (!?) them for an answer before I came here..
I trashed prefs and reinstalled already.
Glad I don't have to do a system install, it doesn't happen with anything else no, although no other software I use tries to perform that particular function (sending to trash from a browser), apart from Logic 6 which I have ordered and await with baited breath.
I looked up "error - 50" on the Apple site and it says "error in user parameter list" which is of not much help to me I'm afraid.
Thanks again
