I just got my Dual G4 867. And I have Propellerhead's Reason 2.0 and Cubasis VST 3.0 and a Korg Triton Studio 76 on the way (Yes, I'm in massive amounts of debt right now). Anyway, I need a PCI card that is compatible with Mac OS X 10.2. Any suggestions? Also, is that going to be all I need to be able to use the Triton as a MIDI controller? Do I need an interface? And please, answer me in as simple non-technical/musical terms as possible. Thanks!

Hi there
There are many ways to go with this, price and features are imporant in making a good decision. Myself I'm partial to the RME PCI cards.....beautiful sound and solid German Engineering. There's a whole line of cards available from M-Audio ( have one of these on my second 'Reason Mac'...works well) . I'm also using an AMT8 midi interface...8 in 8 out......probably too much for your needs right now, so a MidiSport 2x2 from MidiMan should be fine for basic input. This is my setup...there are so many variations...there are firewire audio devices usb devices.........and on and on. Go to audiomidi.com and have a look at their selections of audio interfaces, a good selection with reviews for many of the units PS Both RME and M-Audio are very Solid in OSX Hope this helps Krzysztof |
