I thought this project might be interesting to you guys:
 Sononym - Machine-Learning Powered Sample Browser Short introduction video on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VfKin1n_YaA "Serious about using samples for music production or sound design"  It does 100% automatic tagging/categorization of your sounds, and works completely offline too. It can even find samples from a recording that you've just made (using sound to find sound - a.k.a. similarity search).
