Hi everybody... I hope you can give me your opinion about this:
I switched from a poor performance pc laptop to a MacBook Intel core 2 Duo 2.16GHz with RAM 4 Gb. I open Ableto Live and visualize latency parameter in preferences: with a 256 buffer size I have: Input Latency, 10.2 ms Output Latency, 11.6 ms Total: 21.8 ms with a 128 buffer size total latency reach 16.0ms... but audio starts to crackle a little. As for the notebook I have, don't you think latency is way too high? Could that be a AK1 problem? Latency was lower on my old bad pc with ASIO driver.. Is this possible? Does anybody have an Audio Kontrol 1 and a similar hardwar setup as mine? How's your latency? Is this a problem of my own or you experienced the same?? Thanks for any suggestion! |

I am running my Apogee at 1253 samples and 31ms in and 30ms out....it works fine and I really don't notice any latency when I record (I am on an old G4). I would love to hear what other users are running their sample rates at.

Hi,
i'm regularly "satisfied" with sample latencies of 11 to 13 ms. I play keys and guitar, and while it's not as direct as a piano, i'm able to work musically with that delay. much more than that, and i'm unhappy. i track without a big plug in load, then bump up my buffer size and start adding my effects. I'm running DP 5 and Reason with Kontact 3 and sundry virtual synths. my audio interface is the MOTU 828. |
