Well, it seems obvious the upgrade's price of DP6 is 195$, all over the US. Converting that price in € would give us a price of 123€. Yet, the price of this upgrade will be 195€, in most of the EU countries! I, personally, don't accept that treatment. Motu is not totally responsable of his distributors, and I agree with the way they sell their products, and let some updates free of charge. But in this case, I can't accept that. Don't forget 195€ is the customer's price, not a distibutor's price (including marging...). Linking this with the average currency 's conversion will place that upgrade at +- 300$ !!!!!! OK! Of course they are ship's costs, and so on, but don't you find the difference is unacceptable? What do you think? French users and some belgian ones are furious! Let's have a look... http://nav.440network.com/out.php?mmsc=for...34&start=15DP's french community is about 3000 people! Let's imagine how many users that represents in the whole EU DP's community... in Germany, the Netherlands, Zwitserland,Italy, and so on...? I hope this will help to get a decent price... Otherwise, I will seriously consider Apple'offer with Logic Pro.

Hi everybody: Well, is not just MOTU, I expended some time recently in Spain and could chek some prices...It´s amazing how people value US products (must I say over-value). Almost every musician is glad to pay almost twice the price of a Fender Jazz Bass, for instance, rather than try a wonderful European well made instrument.. I also could see the same ticket for a bunch of Japanese pedals.... So, let´s face it.....It is an unfair world, there are no rules......and we are in the middle of it.....dealing with PIRACY and Global Weather changes...... Why don´t we go back a little in time and make our music with our head...?? Happy Weekend... G

Thank's for your reply emgcarra, but you are not totally forced to accept unfair rules. In this case, Motu isn't the cause of that. But there are some commercial strategies better than the others, for instance Toontrack... http://www.toontrack.com/s20.aspNo comment

Melenko> That's exactly what I am thinking about… more bangs for the bucks, even if DP is a cool DAW. It's not MOTU only issue, it's general with most US editors in the software business. Even with the VAT it's not fair. Even Apple has a long history of strange change policies… Edit: The french importer is right now giving explanations in the French forum in a cool and informative debate.

One thing I found very funny?!? when you try to buy online is that there is actually no 'germany' in the list but countries like Ghana, Federal State of Micronesiaor Butan etc ( how many copies of DP are licensed in these countries?)
