Hi, this might be a really stupid question, but I need help regardless, so here I go!
I have Logic 7 and an M-audio midi controller (oxygen 8v2) - the oxygen has 10 controller knobs that I would love to use with the software synths in Logic 7 - can anyone give me some assistance with how to set up the controllers to modify the software synth settings (ie: cutoff / res / etc.)? I can't seem to figure it out! Thanks, Chris Miller miller@thefloodmusic.net |

hello Chris,
you have two options to control the paramenters of your virtual instruments using the Oxygen 8v2; for the first, there are many v-instr that have the 'LEARN' function, through which you click on a paramenter, select LEARN and then move one of the Oxygen knobs, now when you move that knob, that parameter changes accordingly; unfortunately not all synths have this handy function, but you can get help from Enigma, which is a free M-Audio software, with which you can configure your Oxygen to respond to the paramenters you need. hope this helps. |

Zoze,
Thanks so much for the help, unfortunately my stupidity is still holding me back from getting this to work. I did look into Enigma, but the depth of Logic seems to be the issue. I found the "learn" functions within the prefs of Logic to setup controls for transport, etc. The issue is still finding the "learn" buttons in the v-instruments. I've gone into the controls vs. the edit to search for the learn, but it's not there. Are there any preset enigma Oxygen 8v2 files anywhere? I searched, but no luck. It seems like not many peolpe are using logic with enigma and m-audio, it seems more for reason, etc. Am I working with the wrong software here? lol. Is there a generic midi channel for cutoff freq. in logic that I can manually program myself? Ahh! Frustration. |
