Mbox2 On The Pc, setting up the mbox2 on the pc Options

first off, i know this is for on the mac in this forum but they didnt have an mbox part in the pc music forum, i hope you dont mind!

Right, i have just bought my new mbox, i plug it in, install it. it works fine in pro tools, records and plays back fine, i just start getting problems when i try to use the mbox for other things such as music playback and gaming. the wavedriver is installed and ive added all the appropriate 3rd party programs to its list such as winamp, pro evo 6 etc. so that isnt the problem. Ive selected it in the audio devices under the "audio" tab, selected as "digidesign mbox 2: chan 1-2" but you cannot view the volume panel for it, and under the "volume" tab it says there is no audio device selected, so i dont know what's going on there. The only thing it actaully works on is windows media player. Other than that i dont know what works!
