I searched for the answer to this, but was unable to locate a specific solution.
I need to open up 19 bars in the middle of a song in Logic Express, that is, create a blank space in order to add a middle section. How do I insert bars so I don't have to manually move all the tracks 19 bars down? Thanks, Tbird |

If the tracks are continuous, lasso all tracks, use the scissor tool to cut at the correct bar, select the cut tracks and drag them 19 bars to the right. save.

Thanks for the response...my problem is that the tracks aren't continuous. There are all sorts
of punch-ins, loops, and breaks. So there's no way to just open up measures without manually moving tracks? |

If you cut all the tracks at the right spot and then select all the tracks you're going to move and then move them all at the same time you will move the song in the exact same structure.

"Inserting a Gap across All Tracks
Region > Cut/Insert Time > Insert Time and Move by Locators—The selected objects are cut at the left locator. All objects to the right of the left locator are moved to the right by the cycle length. This creates a gap between the locators. Objects which began at the left locator now begin at the right locator. " chapter 3 Arrange Window page 167 -------------------- |

Unfortunately, the cut/insert time option is not available
on the region menu in Logic Express. I guess I've hit the wall with Express, and need to make the investment in Pro. Thanks again, tbird |

Thanks again, tbird Sorry , I didn't realize that. I've only used LAG, LAP and Pro and they've all had it. You won't regret Pro. It might sting at first, price wise, but you'll be glad you did. gdoubleyou, you're welcome!! -------------------- |
