Hello, been shoping around for the smallest midi keyboard, around 37 keys needed, found the perfect thing, I don't need quality, just something that's pretty small and fit to travel with, the Macmice Garagekey seem to fit the bill.
Here is the link to one : http://www.mac-pro.com/s.nl/it.A/id...c=2&category=16 This is pretty expensive for what it is, but I'm determined to find it for a lower price, now I've found it somewhere for 89 $ but they charged 50$ for shipping to Canada... But the problem has to do with it's compatibility, most sites say it won't work with XP, this one say it now does... is it a driver upgrade or the actual hardware that is now compliant with XP... I wanna know if I could buy it anywhere or will I have to purchase it in that store for that reason only, just purchased a Macbook.. but don't want to waste all my Windows music software, so I want this to work in both environements. I would really appreciate help for that, thanks. Francis. |

It doesn't seem to be very clear… I've tried to find the website of the manufacturer but there's no direct information from them (they have a site but only links to distributors). It's marked as working now with XP (at the US distributor website) but there's no more details… And they have advertised this one as a GarageBand companion from day one and the supposedly XP support is recent, there must not be a huge amount of eventual XP users.
But it sure works on OS X ! (thread is moved as XP is OT, no arm done though -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home

Some hardware may need modified drivers to work on a macbook running XP.
At the system level it's still a Mac and doesn't have a pc style bios. Apple modified a buttload of drivers for the Boot Camp install. Also remember it's beta software, I wouldn't do critical work on it. It's a definite use at your own risk. I suggest a keyboard that is XP and Mac complient, M-audio or Novation. -------------------- G-Dub

Just in case, Apple just updated the BootCamp beta.
Another solution could be to try the virtualization solution from Parallels, it may be better (or worse) for you. -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home
