i have a dual g4 quicksliver style mac and i was running logic 5.5 audio (big box) in os 9

i have recently upgraded my mac to os x 10.4.6 in order to run my new version of logic 7.2 pro

upon installing my new version of logic i recieve this error message when booting up the new 7.2 pro with my new xs key (dongle) in a usb slot...

i recieve this msg:

"The XSKey needs the driver 'EmagicXSKey.kext' in version 1.2 to be install in the folder /Sytem/ Library/ Extensions/. Please install the driver with the installer."

Quit

note: i have'nt deleted the older version of logic 5.5 audio

could this be the answer?

thanks

I also run a G4 Quicksilver. Although i do not use a midi controler, I have to ask the obviouls question,
1) Did you get a driver update for your controler and install it?
2) Have you repaired your permissions?

Both of thes are totally important to making your unit function properly.

Hope this helps some.

I had this problem when upgrading from Logic 5.5 on Panther. I downloaded an XSkey upgrader (or something like that?) from apple, all was then fine. I did not delete the old version of Logic by the way.
Jake.

Also remove your XSkey during the install, and repair permissions after every new software install.
