Wonder could I:
1:Put OS X(Tiger) on it? 2:Put ANYthing OS X on it to get it past OS 9.1? 3:Maybe turn it into a sequencer or something? It's got: 233Mh PC 750 processor 288Mb RAM About 4Gb disk space. CD-ROM (Not DVD) "Wall Street" It's a clean, well-operating system that cost $67. Can it do anything but read and write text and photos? |

I have a G3 Powerbook "Wallstreet" edition - 250MHz with 192mb ram. I upgraded the hard drive a couple years ago to a 20Gb drive. As we speak it has Mac OS 10.1.5 and is running Reason Adapted for M-Audio. I lited it on ebay a couple times but for the amounts it was getting I decided I'd much rather keep it.

Given OS X's availability (i.e., you'll need to find a used copy of Mac OS X previous to 10.3 somewhere), I'd recommend a RAM upgrade (max is 512MB), an HDD upgrade (you can get good 2.5" IDE drives at reasonable prices) and a processor upgrade (check out XLR8YourMac for info on various upgrades and their reliability).
With those in mind you should be able to run 10.3 or greater with decent performance to use as a sequencer or additional workstation. Good luck! deacon -------------------- |

Just got finished upgrading to OS X 10.1.5, which ws painless. Now I've got to get it
enabled for USB and Firewire. I've got a firewire PCMCIA card, but who knows if it's compatible or not. Suggestions? |
