After one month tesing it on the french side of MacMusic, here is the english version of Audiolexic, our brand new wiki at: http://en.audiolexic.org/A "Wiki" it is not a new moppet presented by Mister Rogers or a wireless transfer protocol but a true collaborative encyclopedia/article database where each user can add his brick to an incredibly useful knowledge database, whithout knowing HTML or any complicated language. Our first idea was to create a didactic article section useful to music teachers but it fastly become a Lexicon, where anyone should, feel free to ad their personal contribution by printing their own article (can be small) about just anything that concerns music. From Digital Audio to MIDI, Synthesizers, Guitar, Percussion or Harmony, anything where you feel you can make this world smarter is good to print. The French speaking MacMusicians have been very constructive about this project as we have already received over 300 pertinent articles and that, in less than a month! Would the english community be as productive? This thread is intended to organize the growing wiki content, so please feel free to ask any questions about the wiki usage and content.

Copy/paste of my other post: How to add your defintions? - it has not to be a full definition at the beginning, each adds according to his wisdom, it can be a simple correction of mistakes to a full encyclopedic article. - First, register to the Wiki (with your MacMusic login, it's important for later - Words with no definitions have a RED link, click on it and you're in edition mode, just fill in! - use and abuse of the preview, and remember to validate in the end - Anyone can participate and mod the definitions. Basic tags: - wordtodefine - wordinthepresentdefinition (like cables, you access "|" with option+shift+L) - word(s)youwanttobe slanted (these are ' not quotes) - word(s)youwanttobeinbold (same here) - ==section in an article ==- * marks a dotted paragraph At the end of the article, add The names of the general subsections are: Audio Computers Instruments Solfege Synthesizers If you want to change a definition, just go to the article and click the "modify" link on top of it. If you want to see a full fledge tagged definition go in the edition page of "Dynamics" for example, for the not fainted of heart, check "File Extensions" (you've been warned Now I'm back to add a bit more in the Wiki and start the help page!

In the coming days, I will mod the help page, it'll be better/clearer thank to the great job of ThViaud on the FR side. Just in the case you browse on the Wiki and you see strange spamming URL, don't bother, I watch out and remove/ban the offenders, it's a bug (major one!) of MediaWiki and till they don't find a real solution, I'll have to do the dirty job to clean the place regularly. If it happen, just send me a PM/email, I'll clean double quick if i'm in front of the computer. Note, if among you are some people fluent enough in French, there's already a bunch of definition to translate into English. Else, you can create new ones from scratch
