Midi In Logic Express 7, Can't hear notes being recorded Options

I'm brand-new to using midi and I got a M-Audio Midisport 2x2. I have it hooked up to a Juno 106 or a Korg Microkorg and the Midisport is getting a signal, I can see the notes I play on the synth in the Environment setting of Logic so i know Logic is getting the Midi message but I can't hear any of the notes being played.

I set the channel on my track to 1 and I set the channel on the 106 to 1 but I'm getting nothing.

Does anyone know what I might be doing wrong or what hasn't been set up correctly??

Sounds like you are trying to play a virtual instrument or are you just trying to hear your Juno or Microkorg through Logic? Did you check the meter on the instrument track? I'm not sure if you are having a midi or audio problem. When you play the keyboard check the meter to see if you see the meters moving. If you do and you don't hear anything could be an audio problem. Actually it could still be an audio problem. Are you using an interface or your computer's audio outputs? Make sure they are correctly set in Logic's audio preferences. I don't know if you have any digi products but sometimes the core audio manager with that gets a little weird and you have to reset the computer or give it a massage to make it work. Anyway if you are seeing your notes in Logic and you have a software synth that you see notes moving with then it sounds like an audio problem not midi. If you are trying to hear what you recorded in Logic on playback it could be a setting on your keyboard. Some keyboards need to be set to receive midi from an external source. If you hear your keyboard when you are recording midi but not when you play back this could be the problem. I don't know either of your keyboards very well so you may have to consult the manual on this. I know you said you are new to midi so I'm just going to say that midi doesn't have anything to do with audio. It just tells the keyboards what notes to play but you still have to connect your audio to something to hear the sounds from the keyboard. I'm not saying this as an insult or anything. A lot of people who are new to midi sometimes think that it carries audio signal. I hope you get to the bottom of this. Good luck.

Hey, thanks for the help. I figured out that an audio out thing changed when I installed a new driver. Now everything seems to be working fine. THanks a bunch.
