I sold all my synthesizers and rack gear so I could go the "softsynth" route for live performance. NO RECORDING OR SEQUENCING... I JUST WANT TO ACCESS AND LAYER SOUNDS TO PLAY LIVE. To make a long story short I am WAY IN OVER MY HEAD!! I want to layer sounds, but every time I do it causes my CPU LOAD to go through the roof! I have tried everything everyone has suggested and still no luck.

Here is my set-up:

Controller: CME-UF8
Computer: Mac Powerbook G4, I GHz, 2 GB RAM, Mac OS 10.3.9
Audio interface: M-Audio FireWire 410
Software HOSTS (I have tried all these): RAX 1.2, Logic Express 7, Live 4.2 (demo), Reason (demo)
Plug-ins: SampleTank 2XL*

* IK Multimedia tells me that when they release SampleTank 2.1, it can be used as a stand-alone and should solve my CPU load issues. Could they be right??????

I hope to hear from SOMEONE soon! I will play at your wedding or funeral if you can help me solve this issue!!!

What I used to do is mixing all layers I need into one sample. smile.gif
