As long as you have a spare USB Port on your computer, not on a Hub, the Alesis MultiMix 8 USB will hook up. Make sure your OS will qualify. Email: support@alesis.com or call 401-658-5760 for tech support.

Reference Manual quote: Use a USB cable to connect the USB port to a compoter. Do not use a USB hub, as hubs introduce timing glitches to USB communication. Unquote.
I just happen to see this in the Reference Manual so I thought I'd pass it along. Another thing, tech support will have to send you the updated hookup instructions. The Reference Manual doesn't have it's directions straight. You can also download the hookup directions thru Google. I just started getting orientated with the Alesis MultiMix USB 8 Mixer then got a Digidesign Digi 002 Rack with Pro Tools LE 6.9 which has been a real headache for me. But that's another story. For $150 I think the Alesis mixer is worth the price, once you get it setup. Another thing that the manual doesn't mention, you have to get two RCA cables to connect the 2 TRACK OUT of the mixer to the 2 TRACK IN. I hope this helps. |

First off, this is in the wrong place (redirected).
Second, I would not trust anything that said it can do 8 chanels over a USB pipe (and I love Aleses products.). -------------------- kaboombahchuck
