I have just got a 160gig LaCie extreme HDD. I am going to use it only for audio I have not got anything on it yet and I am wondering if it would be a good idea to partition it into say 3 partitions. 1)protools projects 2)sample library 3)iTunes Library or some other partitions.
Does anyone use Garritan personal orchestra sample libraries? I was wondering if I move it from my computer HDD to my external HDD will I need to have the program on the same drive or will the program find the library on the external HDD?

Thanks again
Paul

I use an OWC Mercury Elite ext HD (120gig). I keep my projects and my sample library on it, but not partitioned, just in separate folders. Works flawlessly if you set it up that way. And the program, in my case Live 4, stays on the internal computer HD. It finds the libraries on the external, via firewire.
