Hello everyone,
I'm a newbie to this site, however, I was rather impressed with the info and help that was offered so much that I decided to join. Anyway, here's my delima. I'm running PT 6.4 and Reason. I have Apple Soundtrack and have been able to sync it through PT. However, two things are not happening. For one, I can't get any audio from ST to PT. For the output in ST I've selected SoundFlower or PT. However, the sound/loop is still coming through my internal speaker on my laptop. I have soundflower (just aquired it) and I'm trying to figure out how to use it. In my sound pane I tried selecting soundflower then tried ProTools however, to no avail. Mind you, reasons work perfectly. So, if any one can walk me through the setup process it would be greatly appreciated. Oh! and while I'm asking. It there any way to play/trigger the sounds via a midi keyboard? Thanks to any and all as I await your reply(s) 6x |

i dont know soundtrack but pro tools doesn`t work with soundflower because pro tools has no core audio support
the core audio driver for mbox is just for you to use the mbox with other programs pro tools has another audio engine so the only thing you can try if soundtrack is rewire compatible to open a track in pro tools and to select soundtrack as a input (try to open a multichannel plugin and you will find it in instruments)after that you can open soundtrack but i don`t know if soundtrack supports this |

You can always bounce out your tracks from Soundtrack, and then import them into PTLE. Bounce the entire track from bar 1. Set tempo of PT song the same, import track from bar 1. Viola!
Or... Use the Ableton Live Digidesign edition that comes w/ your mBox for loops instead of Soundtrack. ReWire Live into PT. You could also try setting the output of Soundtrack to the built-in hardware, routing that into the mBox, use an Audio track or Aux input in PT. I think the first option will be easiest for you. I used to do this with Reason tracks before PTLE had ReWire capability. Good Luck, -------------------- |

td3 & Just Sound,
Thanks so much for your imput. I'm going to try all of the suggested options. Btw, I just purchased Garage Band, hopefully I'll have better success. Mind you, I use Reason and a host of outboard gear, however, ST has some nice loops that I like to use to add some flavor. More than likely I should be able to open up those same files in GB. I'll keep you informed and once again, THANKS! 6X |
