I've got Reason rewired into Live, and I'm recording the output of Reason into Live.
I'm using the 828mkII as my soundcard at 24/96. Reason/Live are also set to 24/96. About halfway through the song, there's a HUGE block of digital distortion that just starts at random times. Sometime more than once in a single pass. This should be a simple procedure, what's up with the crazy distortion ? G5, Dual 2.0gHz, 2 Gig Ram, Live 4, Reason 2.5, MOTU 828MKII. Thanks y'all Fields -------------------- G5, Dual 2.0GHz, 2GHz RAM, 250G HD

Thanks y'all Fields Can you see the distortion on your input or output meters? I had a problem with bursts of noise coming in through the digital in. The 828 mkII had to go back to MOTU to be fixed : ) |

the distortion shows up in Live, I can see the huge block of noise.
I'm using the optical out to feed my monitors, and the noise comes through them. I dont think it is Reason, since I've never had this problem with Live+Reason before... I'll email MOTU, thanks RegHater. Fields -------------------- G5, Dual 2.0GHz, 2GHz RAM, 250G HD

try turinig off the channel output that you are recording the audio into.
example. if i route an external synthe throught an external preamp on channel one in my daw. i have to set channel one input to the correct input coming out of the preamp, but i also have to disable output for the channel that i am going into. if you don't then you have what you are describing. so try disabling the out put of the track that you are recording into. the input is hot, but the output is not. then once the recording has finished. re-enable the output for that channel. i don't use the applications that you use, but i sometimes get the same result if i forget to disable the channel output that i am recording into.
