Hello,
Logic Pro newbie so please bear with me. I'm having trouble with my audio input/output set up in logic pro 7. My input device is a Tascam US-122 USB audio/midi interface. The problem I'm having is getting Logic to accept it as the input device while at the same time outputing sound to my apple line-out speakers. In the logic audio preference panel, if i set the core audio device to my Tascam box I can record my guitar but can't hear it. If i switch core audio to "Built-in Audio" I can hear the playback but no longer record. In GarageBand the audio preference setup is very clear because it has two selections. One for input device and one for output device. In Logic it's not so clear and I can't get it to work. In my system preferences I have the Tascam box selected as the audio input device and built-in audio as the ouput. This has always been the case and the setup worked fine in GarageBand. No problems playing my guitar or MIDI keyboard through the Tascam box. Please help |

Logic will only use one interface at a time. Having sound go in one interface and out another will eventually cause problems as the interfaces clocks drift out of sync slowly. This may be OK for garagband, but not for pro sound. Just get a set of monitors and plug 'em into your tascam and you should be golden (and better than your macs speakers!) I just have my Mbox running out into an analog mixer, then to a normal stereo system amp, then a pair of bose shelf speakers. They're not studio monitors, but they do the trick.
