I'm currently using the Digi001 as my output device in my Sound Control Panel and am wondering if I shouldn't. I like to have iTunes and DVD audio route through my 001 w/out having to launch ProTools LE to route the audio... which is why I have it set this way. I've read some posts recommending NOT to have it set this way ? that it seems to make audio software (ie: ProTools & Reason) conflict with each other.
I have a general misunderstanding of how the audio routes through the Mac & Digi001 and can't quite figure out how the drivers (ASIO Direct I/0 & Sound Manager) play into it. Let's say in Reason, what is the difference between selecting the ASIO drivers and Sound Manager? Thanks for anyone's time in helping me understand this. I recently found this forum and am looking forward to getting some help and contributing some info that I DO understand. -------- cleft G4DP/450 OS9.2 Digi001 |

From my experience, i've stop using my digi 001 output for itune. It does conflict when i boot protools. I't says something like: your hardware is used by an other device or something like that. then i have to restart my G3
My way out of this: One partition for music with minimum extention in system and an other partition for the rest... In this case u can istall your digi for itune output. when you need a steady protools for work, reboot on your music startup disk. hope this helps |
