Can anyone help a newbie Digi 001? Options

Hello ! i been using Reason ever since it first came out and i LOVE it, music is my passion and i just love everything about it.
'Thanks' to some tragic incident i got hold of sone cash and decided that i wanna move on in my music making so i bought a small used home studio.
a Digi 001 sound card, a Nord Modular, a A3000 a midisport 2X2 interface a MIDI keyboard and a eurorack mixer.
Just like i said i am a complete newbie but the guy i bought it from said that it was basicly just to connect and go.
But when i install Pro Tools LE it says : Pro Tools is either not installed or in use by another hardware.

And i cant figure out how to connect all the stuff properly, i know all of this might sound a bit retarded but im just dying to see all my new gear and i dont know how to use it.... i been looking for support but i cant find anywhere so i figure anyone here migh help me, if not the i gues i just have to sell it :-)

Sorry if this is a long post and it doesnt make all that much sense but if anyone can help a desperate swede then il be forever greatfull and il do anything ever possible to return the favour.

No at this moment im only using Reason, i have logic but not installed.... when i got logic the logic key was missing oh yes... i have rebirth to

just to let you know... all the apps you mentioned will not run with ProTools LE at the same time.... that could be why you are getting the error message. In fact, you will find that you cannot run Quicktime, or any other device that uses the soundmanager (even ICQ sometime will cause probs) like mp3 player or music apps while ProTools is running. You may use certain apps like Retro and Unity with PT but they use something called directconnect to link them to PT. So, in order to use any apps with sound other than PT... quit PT first. Also, some apps like Reason will need an ASIO driver installed if you want to use them with your Digi001 monitor outputs.

So... if you want to bring audio from Reason (for example) into ProTools.... you will need to run Reason alone and export aiff files then import them into a ProTools session. Same with Rebirth and most other apps. To get sound in from Nord... just use ProTools and record from inputs.

yes i do know that i cant use PT and reason at the same time, but i cant even start PT even though i have everything else turned of,
i can start PT if i go in the Apple menu, sounds and then i choose Built in instead of digi design, but then i dont have any sound from the soundcard but PT is running,
and i did DL some ASIO drivers from Steinberg to my Digi 001 but i cant choose them in my Reason prefferences
and my other question was how to set up a propper midi chain with all the gear i have.... well i gues im asking for to much here anyways thanks for the help Synthetic :-)

hmm... that is really odd. I use have the Digi001 also and never had that problem unless other apps were running... almost sounds like either a hardware problem with the soundcard or a software glitch caused by extension confilcts or something. Sorry I don't know a sure answer for your problem. Do you run a clean set of extension when using PT? By that... I mean... setup a set of extensions just for running music apps and only include basic set and then add digi drivers and the reason drivers to the set and any other extensions you may need for other music apps.

Don't understand the Reason problem either. I had thought Reason wouldn't work with the Digi001 until I recently d/l that same ASIO driver and installed into the ASIO driver folder that is enclosed in Reason folder. It works fine now. If you happen to get manuals with Digi001... you could maybe use the SN# on inside of one of the manuals and goto www.digidesign.com and seek support. Other than that.... I am afraid I am clueless. Sorry couldn't help more.

yes i have tried all sorts of extention settup so im am sure that that cant be the problem, well thanks anyway for your help :-)
