Once again M-Audio comes out with a crap driver for the FW410, I am getting so sick of this.

So I install the new driver thinking it is going to rectify the not able to wake up problem, first thing I do is open the panel check to see the driver number then go to load a saved set and as soon as the load button is pressed some window comes up with a file location and some other stuff. So I go to open Grab to get a screen shot, switch back to the FW410 Panel using TAB+Command and as soon as I touch the screen I get an OS crash with the multi language white writing on a black background.

I am so annoyed by M-Audio and the problems I have had with this product from day 1, CDs that didn't work, crashed OSX multiple times, not working as advertised and shit driver after shit driver.

I will try not buy any of their products again and I hope you don't either for your sake.

What version of the Mac OS are you running?

What other Hardware are you using with the FW 410?

Anything else plugged into any of the other ports
on the back of your machine?

I am running the 1.2.2 version of the driver with 10.3.4
and everything is working fine?

I am pretty happy with the Firewire 410 although I don't
use it for midi only audio input? Are you trying to use
it for midi?

OSX 10.3.4

Got a Ext HD on a firewire hub but this caused no problems before.

Anything else plugged into any of the other ports
on the back of your machine?

Yeah but this wasnt a problem with the last driver.

I am running the 1.2.2 version of the driver with 10.3.4
and everything is working fine?

It was almost fine for me except the FW410 wouldn't wake up although this was working with one of the previous driversr but not now.

I am pretty happy with the Firewire 410 although I don't
use it for midi only audio input? Are you trying to use
it for midi?

I am using it for midi and this is the part that was crashing my OS before with the first driver available. I like the unit per se, it is just M-Audio and its string of crap drivers I am starting to dislike strongly.

Hello everyone,

I can't help noboby with the 410, I just thought to buy one for my eMac but While I'm getting information on several forums, it seems it's not a good choice ... sad.gif
What do you suggest me to buy as a FireWire sound card with the same features of the 410, what brand/model please ?

I hope you could get the 410 work, I've seen the latest driver, I thought all the problem would gone ...

Regards,
Olivier

My friend just got the Edirol FA101 and says he likes it but you would do well to see what other people have to say as I have seen a post somewhere that was not happy with something or other.

Good luck.
