Help! The Ugly VSTi Shell is the only free VST to RTAS adapter that I have found, but the link to download the OSX version never works! Is there any other site where a download exists besides the developer's? Or is there perhaps a NEW free adpater out there? Maybe another way to use VST in ProTools 6.1?

I'm surprised that you are having problems downloading it. Yor'e using www.refuse.com, right? Have you tried via versiontracker.com or macupdate.com? Anyway, there is also
VST Shell and Multi Shell from http://www.wildfrontear.co.uk/
and Plogue Bidule at http://www.plogue.com

Good luck.

Thanks! I actually have already tried www.wildfrontear.co.uk, but when I click on the download link for the OSX MultiShell, I get just get a page full of code. I have tried this on a few different MAC's, and it happens every time. Another strange thing happens when I try downloading the Ugly VSTi Shell, and I get a Word document!! I'll look at Bidule, though I think that it's a Beta version and has a time limit to its use.

Cheers!

When you get that page of code. Let it continue until it's finished downloading. Then go to File and Select Save As. Your file is there, just not in a form that you recognize. I got caught a few times with this too.

Peace.

Hi all,

Whenever you click on a link and get a page of code, just hit the back button on your browser, then <option>click the link. The file should then download in the normal way.

Regards.
