how do you mix down or save digital performer files as mp3 or audio files in order to burn them onto cd using toast?

You can do it in iTunes, or checkout shareware apps, above under the share tab.

i'm not familiar with digital performer with most programs just export your track as a aiff or wav file and load it up into you mp3 converter. iTunes does seem to be a very good piece of software, i'm yet to try out the mp3 ripping though.
