I'm planning to record demos and live performances and now that iBooks come with a G4 and are cheaper than PowerBooks I've considered to buy one. I only need it to record (no more than 16 tracks at a time, normally I'll record 8 tracks), for mixing and editing I'll use a PowerMac G4 1'25GHz I own.
Is an iBook enogh for recording purposes? (Note: I'll use either a Digi002 or a Motu 896, with independent Focusrite pre's)
Thanks a lot.

i have an ibook g3, i record direct to the hard drive. i have recorded an hour long set before, using emagic's emi 6|2m allowing 6 inputs dirct from the inhouse desk. i can't see a g4 being any more problematic...although an external firewire drive is highly recommended.
