Well, Has anyone actually been able to use this software? I installed Phrazer on a B+W G3 with 400+ megs of ram. The G3 also has ProTools 5.0 with Mix 24 and a second farmcard. The idea was to use Phrazer to create the loops (and audition thru ProTools) and then bring the finished loops inot ProTools for the rest. We got tired of working in ACID and WinDoze. I have been unable to get Phrazer run without totally freezing the system (9.1). The program doesn't just crash it's a total lock-up requiring a hard restart! I can manage to preview about four loops before the crash...if I try to edit the loop....death!
Any body had better success or suggestions? Jack jcornell@nc.rr.com |

I have PT 5.1 LE running on a Digi 001 system as well and on a 350mhz G3. As far as loops are concerned. I tried Phrazer once and never tried it again. Its got some good ideas but seems like a amateurish app to me and I have seen lots of mixed reviews on it as well. I still have a copy of it sitting uninstalled simply because I didn't think it was worth messing with. I do all my loop work in PT now. Using the beat detective feature and loop playback... you can manage loops pretty well and I use Speed Audiosuite to stretch or compress as needed. Granted this may seem like more work than using Phrazer... I just prefer to use software I know works and is made for professional audio reproduction. If your PT system is a TDM.... that is even better yet because you can hack your audio and quantitize to the grid as well. If you have Reason and Recycle... then that would be the only other way I would recommend manipulating loops for use in PT. But this is just my opinion and everyone is going to prefer doing things in a different manner. Hope this was of some help.
