Well, I have been considering upgrading my music setup to OSX especially since I just ordered a new G4 zif. Now I am stuck as my main application I wanted to port over currently has no upgrades available for sale. As in they ran out. Apparenttly the only way I can get Digidesign ProTools for OSX right now is to buy a device that comes with it. That stinks.
How do you run out of upgrade software? You stick on the site with e-commerce to pay for d/l and require info from precious version. So now I am left trying to scramble back to get OS9 wokring again on my new used machine Very frustrating -------------------- ----------------------------------------

I feel you pain...
Got a new G5 running Panther.. M audio says driver (3.1)for 2x2 midiman sport works, but it don't.. Fortunatly Metro 6 is allowing me to plug sound fonts directly into the midi sequencer... Good thing I have tons of sound fonts, or I'd really be miffed. But still, I do miss using the hardware synths in my arsinal... Hooked them back up to the good ol' G3 running OS9..... -------------------- kaboombahchuck

yep... its reason like that and $$$ needed that I have been putting off going to OSX for music because things were working fine for me in OS9. My onoly problem now is my B/W G3 I just bought used doesn't want to boot to OS9 nor any cd with OS9 and only boots OSX only so I am kinda stuck on what to do. I feel like I am wasting my $$$ trying to be cheap and buying used machine and should just buy new one but I think most new ones come with 10.3 and I heard there is no OS9 boot with 10.3 so I would still be stuck.
Any word on driver updates for your interface Kaboom? Sometimes it just doesn't pay to upgrade and other times it is impossible to not upgrade due to new software requirements. Its just so hard to keep up with the hardware vs. software sometimes -------------------- ----------------------------------------

Funny thing, I just went to the M-audio site, and now they don't list a driver for the 2x2 0S X 3.1.1 Guess they didn't have their stuff together.
Hi Jerm. Yep, I'm thinking about changing who I do buisness with. Guess I'll leave everything alone on my G3, and start over with interfaces on the G5. Kinda a bummer, but it looks like I'll end up with a duel setup, which ain't all that bad.... I guess. -------------------- kaboombahchuck
