Hi, i've purchased the edirol um-5 where i am now having some issues with the mic. i've got a behringer b1 condenser mic which only seems to play back in 1 channel. when i switch to mono i can hear from both speakers.

In stereo however, it goes back to just one channel. meaning left or right only. surely there has to be a way of getting it to work in both channels with stereo?

Thanks

I'll take a guess that you're using the edirol UA-5, as the edirol UM series is for MIDI I/O only. I dont quite understand your question, but here is some info on panning etc with the UA-5:

As mic input one is assigned to the left channel of audio I/O to the mac, and mic input two to the right, they will monitor on the speaker left or right according to channel number. If you want to monitor on both left and right speakers, the mono monitor switch allows this. You can still record in Stereo with the mono switch on, as it only affects the direct monitor signals sent to the analogue outputs.
I can't be definite on how playback channels will relate to recording channels (I dont know what software you use), but if you are using a sequencer such as Cubase, the pan control of the track you record to will let you control the playback balance between left and right speakers.

Hope this helps.
