Hi, another newbie here. I have a G5 on order and will be using it primarily to record guitar and create complete songs using a DAW. I have narrowed my search to the MOTU828, M-Audio Firewire 410, Tascam US 1222 and the M-Box. Any and all feedback is appreciated.

actually... no interface needed depending on how demanding your music needs are... the G5 comes with 24bit audio i/o's I think. Actually... a good preamp may be all you need for good sound unless you need more inputs and outputs. wink.gif

Thanks for replying Synthetic. While this may be possible I can't find where it was designed for this purpose.

clickety click here

I don't know the exact specifics but according to this web page it claims to have both analog inputs and outputs as well as optical input and output for audio. They designed this thing with music production in mind I think. I would love this machine. I have a Boss GT6b fx pedal with optical output I use with my bass and that would connect with ease. But like it says... it has analog inputs as well so all you need is a DI box for guitar or fx pedal that can beef up signal like di box or a nice preamp of some kind and you would be good to go wink.gif
