Hi there. I'm new here, so thanks for reading this.

My problem is, that I have Logic Pro 6.4 running on my Dual G5 Power Mac and am about to make the jump to Logic Studio, but have also just purchased a new Intel MacBook that I would like to take to and from the studio to work on tracks at home. Obviously, I don't want to pay more than I have to for the software, so was wondering if I could get away with buying the upgrade for the G5, and installing 6.4 then the upgrade on the MacBook, too? Would this work on an Intel Mac, as 6.4 wasn't universal, of course? If there is no other solution, then I'll buy the full program and install it on both computers, but the less spent on software, the more I can spend on fun bits of hardware:-)

Many thanks in advance for your help.

I HAVE LOGIC 6.4 INSTALLED ON MY MAC BOOK PRO AND IT WORKS FINE ITS HAS A GLITCH BUT IT WORKS FINE
AND IT ALSO WORKS WITH PLUGINS THAT ARE DESIGN FOR POWER MAC RIGHT ON MY MAC BOOK PRO
ALL YOU HAVE TO DO IS INSTALLED AND TRY IT
IF IT DOES NOT RUN JUST LEAVE IT IN YOUR APPLICATION FOLDER AND RUN THE UPDATE AND IT WILL WORK JUST MAKE SURE YOU HAVE
THE USB KEY INSERTED SO WHEN THE UPDATE RUNS IT WILL FIND IT (BECAUSE IT WILL NEED IT IN ORDER TO UPDATE TO LOGIC 8
THAT SHOULD WORK FINE

Ok, sorry for the lateness of the reply...
After reading a lot of feedback about Pro 8, specifically regarding the removal of the audio configuration window, I decided that I'd buy a second-hand copy of Pro 7.2 (which runs like a charm on my MacBook, of course). Reason is, I make a lot of music for commercial purposes and often have to make numerous versions of tracks, and the audio configuration window saves me a heck of a lot of time when having to copy or remove effects etc.
However, I couldn't resist the new features of Pro 8, but how was I to have both versions running on the same Mac without partitioning the HD and installing two OSs? Well, it turns out that I could install 8 on my Power Mac and then just copy the application file over onto the MacBook. So far, so good, and now I have the best of both worlds (on the MacBook at least anyway...;-)
