greetings. so, i am doing fine with creating R5 instruments in GarageBand based on the synths... but whenever i try to wire in a sequenced synth or otherwise generative ensemble, i get output from the ensemble in the meter but cannot get it to capture the output sound. i thought of trying to use it as a Live Instrument, but that doesn't seem to record the output either.

when i am in GarageBand, and view the monitor on the new [Software] Instrument, the level indicators are kicking. it's just that when i record, no midi notes are recorded out to GB; nor waveforms.

is there anyone who can successfully output BlueMatrix [or any other sequencer in Reaktor] to GB, and record it while the instrument is playing, who can describe the steps they took to do it?

thanks!

When I use Reaktor (any ensemble) as a plug in - mind you I am using Ableton Live- I have to open a midi track, choose an instrument & arm that midi track to record (that is push the virtual "record" button until it lights up red). I hope this doesn't sound too obvious as this really confused me when I first started working with plug in instruments. If the other instruments are working fine & it's just the sequenced instruments that aren't working then I have to wonder if you have hit Reaktor's "play" or not. I haven't really tried to use any of Reaktors sequenced synths inside of Live. I just tried it though & I noticed that you may have to both arm the track, hit Reaktor 5s play button & start your sequencer's (GB's) "play" button as well. Hope this helps.

Also in standalone mode you can record the output of anything you want. Go to "view" dropdown menu & select "recorderbox" & from there you will have to choose a file name & location for you to send the recorded file to. Then "arm" it to record & hit "play". Very easy overall. You may find just dinking around in standalone mode the best way to work with some Reaktor ensembles as trying to open them up inside of a DAW just causes the audio to stutter, making it nearly impossible to work.
