I have a Motif 6 running through a Tascam US 122 through to Garageband. My goal is to be able to record midi data using the voices on the Motif. Is that even possible? I have been able to record the voices of the Motif into Garageband with a normal cable but when I hook up a midi cable from the synth to the interface, I am not able to record the voices from the Motif as it becomes a control for the software instruments in Garageband. Am I doing something obviously wrong? Is there something I need to adjust in Garageband or is it probably something on the synth? I would love some help friends....

Hi hermanfrankman.

You need 2 midi cables.
Midi out of your Motif, to Midi in of your Midi interface.
Midi out of your interface to the Midi in on your Motif.
Make sure the Local on/off function in your Motif is set to off.
That's it.
Hope that helps
