Hi!

My Motu 828 mk2 has crashed.

I don't know what happened, but all I get when I turn it on is a couple of lights shining. Sometimes every light is lit and sometimes just a few.

It sometimes let me all the way in to the machines own menu and then my computer (Mac G5) finds it and starts the Console. When this happens I can work as usual and run Logic without having to accept 2 in, 2 out. The only problem then is that there's no sound. Not FROM the computer to the Motu or the other way around.

My setup is as follows:

Mac G5 dual 1.8 GHz (with OSX 10.3.4)
Motu 828 mk2 (with the latest driver available).

What to do? I really need some help. wink.gif Someone told me to update the Firmware, but I can't find any updates for that.

Thanks!

/Gustav

Hi!

I had the same problem as you did. I contacted Motu and they said that i should return the unit from the store i bought it from. I did and got new unit yesterday! But.. after using for one hour it crashed... AGAIN..
Can't belive i thought...

I simple tried to reset the unit to factory defaults and it WORKED! It did not work on the first unit had that crashed but on this one it did.

So simple try to unplugg the unit from the computer, start the unit and press the Setup knob and turn it all the way so that is says reset to Factory defaults and reset it smile.gif

But if it will fix the problem complete and will not make it come back. i don't know... I have wrote an email to Motu and waiting for a reply, i will tell you what they said on the email later when i get it.

Hope it will help you!

Hi!

I did what you did and sent the unit to Motu for some fixing, but instead of that old one a got a brand new one. Great!

I think it was one of my preamps that caused the breakdown. It gets smoking hot so now I there's ventilation space on every side of it instead of a Motu and another preamp.

Tnx for your reply!

/G
