Peak for $
Audacity for no $ See here Now we'd be very happy for both SoundForge and waveLab to come on OS X one day… -------------------- Our Classifeds • Nos petites annonces • Terms Of Service / Conditions d'Utilisation • Forum Rules / Règles des Forums • MacMusic.Org & SETI@Home

When i switched from my pc to mac i had to switch from soundforge to peak. At first it was a bit frustrating but now i really like peak's interface as much as i like soundforge.

DSP Quattro http://www.i3net.it/Products/dspQuattro/As...asp?Language=EN
It even supports virtual instruments. Much cheaper than Peak with a larger feature set. -------------------- G-Dub

Are there any Soundforge users who have used this? I am not that crazy about SF since upgrading from version 7 to version 8 - not that it crashes or anything but it does hang up a little more, seems to function a little slower in its processing & just kinda acts "funny" from time to time (its multiple tracks handling is really hard to keep up with than it used to be as well).

sound forge is not available on the Mac, don't think you will find many users here!
I have used it on PC, but I now do all audio/video work on my Macs. -------------------- G-Dub

After a long search and tried I decided to go for Wave Editor. A new really promising app just for Mac. Not Free but I think these guys are creating a great app.
There is a demo available on their site well worth trying. http://www.audiofile-engineering.com/ cheers |

i was a recent'ish switcher too (june last year) and cool edit was my choice for sample editing, now i use a combination of peak and audacity, as peak from what i see doesn't allow importing of raw data (i.e. doc files or .jpgs).
haven't tried dsp quatro though |

Recently picked up soundtrack pro, it's great for audio editing, multitrack mixing, includes all of Logic Pro's effects, and if you can find a copy(it only comes with FCP suite now) you become eligable for a $199 upgrade to the full Final Cut Pro Suite. thats if you ae interested in video and DVD authoring.
