Hi,

Very basic question really, I'd like something like the Creative Audigy external souncard, but that will work on the Mac. Baiscally I want to be able to use a set of decent headphones on my G4, without having to rumage around behind my desk every time I want to plug my JBL's back in.

I was thinking of something like a Griffin Powerwave external amp, but not sure this is exactly the sort of thing I need.

So any thoughts would be of help, I don't want to spend thousands!!!!!

Also my mic socket on the back of my G4 does not work, I cannot record any sounds and cannot find anywhere in system preferences that helps, I have already checked the system settings and it is set-up correctly but just does not record.

Output works fine through a set of JBL's though.

Any thoughts gratefully received!

Stephen

I think the Echo mia midi would work just fine. Also, M Audio has the audiophile. Both are quite reasonably priced & are supposed to work very well- The audiophile might be the deal because if you wanted to, you could run Pro Tools (M powered) with it in the future.
